THIS PROJECT IS COMPLETED OFF-SITE UNLESS A COORDINATOR HAS BEEN CONTACTED AND A SPACE BOOKED. When available, Feed More’s Meals on Wheels and Children's Program deliver boxes filled with goodies to help celebrate our clients. Volunteers can work in groups to collect supplies and assemble Community Care Boxes for Feed More to distribute. When creating a Community Care box to donate, please be sure to wrap the box top separately from the bottom. Use colorful paper to wrap your box – feel free to decorate! Shoe boxes or small photo boxes/storage boxes work well. (We need to be able to open the boxes. Please do not wrap boxes shut.) If you are creating boxes for our Children's Program, please make them no bigger than the size of a small pencil case. Only the group's point of contact needs to register within Volunteer Matters. Please do not include any food items or candy as many of our recipients are on restricted diets. To plan a Community Care Box volunteer event, reach out to Kourtney Boughey (kboughey@feedmore.org) or Diana Gomez (dgomez@feedmore.org). Volunteer with Feed More's SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) outreach team and help us support neighbors through the application process at local food pantries, community resource centers, libraries, or within our Feed More office. As a volunteer, you’ll provide critical one to one application assistance to neighbors in need, requiring patience, adaptability, and empathy. After a comprehensive training, you will work directly with neighbors, ensuring they feel welcomed and supported, and help break down any barriers to access. While previous experience with SNAP or benefit applications is a plus, it’s not required. What matters most is your willingness to learn and serve our community with kindness and equity. Includes administrative and outreach positions.
